For You Techies...Nike's "Human Race"

So Nike and Apple have teamed up with a product package that ties your workouts in with your ipod. Not a completely new idea, but in a slightly new way. When you buy the "sport package" it includes a sensor that is placed inside a special type of Nike shoes (yes you have to buy those too) and the sensor provides all kinds of feedback info on your workout (speed, distance, etc.). They are also promoting this with their "Human Race" event. August 31, 2008, there are 10K races in 25 cities around the world - the closest one to us being New York City. But, if you have the equipment, you can also join in wherever you are. Maybe not for everyone as not all of us want to invest in more stuff, but if you like technology and a little variety and feedback to make your running more interesting (and possibly more intense) give it a try!
